The Geometry Dash EVW Challenge: A Custom Creation & Editing Experience
The Geometry Dash EVW Challenge is a unique, fan-made level built within a powerful Scratch-based editor, offering fresh gameplay for dedicated players and aspiring creators alike. This project is a homage to the community, with special thanks to @CaptainFlufBall and @wallyt12 for their foundational "Geometry Dash Level Editor-2.0" work.
Performance Note & Setup
Be advised: this project can cause significant lag. For the best experience, it is highly recommended to use the TurboWarp link provided. The built-in Turbo Mode is less effective. Level editing is complex, so reading all instructions beforehand is crucial.
Core Gameplay & Controls
The game toggles between two main modes using the 'Z' and 'M' keys. In Play Mode, control your icon with a simple click to jump, fly, switch gravity, or use orbs. Advanced features include toggling 'no-clip' mode with 'I' and 'O' for free exploration and pressing 'Z' to create checkpoints in practice mode. Upon completion, rate the level from 0-9.
Comprehensive Editor Toolkit
The Editor Mode is a full-featured level design studio. Navigate block menus with '1' or '3', cycle blocks with '4' and '5', and select the eraser with '2'. Access settings with 'I' and 'O', and a debug menu with 'O' and 'P'. Place blocks by clicking, rotate them with 'R', and fine-tune placement with the 'E' (rotation/nudge) menu. Use 'F' for triggers, 'B' for detection settings, 'Z' to pick a block, '9' to save, and '0' to load.
To add custom music, go to the backdrop, delete the default tracks, and upload your own. To save your level permanently, you must remix the original Scratch project and save it to your account. Advertising is only permitted for content directly related to this editor.
Evolution & Feature History
The editor has evolved through key updates:
- Version 2.0: A major expansion adding save codes, move/alpha/instant count triggers, keys, coins, a counter, colored & glowing blocks, teleport portals, 3D objects, thorns, the swing copter, more monsters, and fade effects.
- Version 1.2: Introduced numbers on the percentage bar for better progress tracking.
- Version 1.0: The foundation, featuring all core Geometry Dash elements: blocks, platforms, gravity portals, all seven game modes (cube, ship, ball, UFO, wave, robot, spider), pads, orbs, color triggers, dangers, slopes, dash orbs, cross & black blocks, layout blocks, mini/mirror/dual portals, saws, gears, and speed changers.
Ideal for players seeking a novel challenge or creators wanting to dive into custom Geometry Dash level design, the EVW Challenge provides a flexible and community-centric platform.
